I haven’t always been on the water.

I was born in Southern California but at age 5 I moved into the #heartland. I love the Midwest. It truly is a paradise of its own. Life was slower, more simple… but options were limited for me because I craved the sea again. It took me a while to get my roots back to the tidelands. It wasn’t easy, it was uncomfortable being far from home, alone, but I made it happen.

That was over 15 years ago now that I moved back to the coast! It is truly unbelievable for me! Now, not only am I an Emergency First Responder CPR and First Aid Instructor and a lifeguard trained/ learn to swim instructor, I also hold a master captains licence and even lived on a sailboat for 5 years sailing around the Caribbean with my coconut retrievers Leia and Roscoe. I'm also a Master Scuba Diver Trainer (PADI Staff Instructor) and have been teaching for ten years now and I stopped logging my dive after I got to 3,000 of them! I have been a divemaster/ science diver with the National Park Services and National Geographic Photographers! I have worked in Thailand, Honduras and all over the US Virgin Islands until Hurricane Irma threatened me to move back to the states to set my anchor here in Wilmington and try to start a family. I have lived in coastal North Carolina for 7 years now and plan to stay!

My goal in this tourism industry is to be a marine advocate and enthusiast, and to promote and encourage people to get out there and explore! Yes it can be overwhelming (especially if you're from Nebraska) but my favorite quote to remind myself is “The #Journey is the #Destination”. Step outside your world and safely enjoy a life beyond your bubble! I am here to help you because believe me after trial and error of living on board for five years, I got this #wagonwheel greased!

Always,

Summer
